If you are seeing a notification in Adobe Acrobat, Creative Cloud, or other Adobe applications stating that your license is expired or that your subscription will not work after March 19, 2026 — please do not be alarmed. The City of Pleasanton IT Department is aware of these messages and is actively working to finalize our Adobe licensing agreement.
Will My Adobe Software Stop Working?
No — not yet. Adobe provides a 30-day grace period after a contract expiration date. Your Adobe software will continue to function normally during this time while IT works to complete the agreement renewal. You do not need to take any action.
What Should I Do?
• Continue using your Adobe software as normal. The expiration warning is informational and does not mean your software has stopped working. • Do not attempt to purchase a personal license. The City will resolve this through our enterprise agreement — please do not buy an individual subscription on your own. • Do not uninstall or reinstall Adobe. This will not resolve the warning and is not necessary.
What Is IT Doing?
The IT Department is in the process of finalizing the City's Adobe licensing agreement. We expect this to be resolved well within the 30-day grace period. We will update this article as soon as the renewal is confirmed.
What If My Software Actually Stops Working?
If your Adobe application stops functioning entirely and you need it for critical work, please submit a ticket to the IT Help Center and reference "Adobe License Grace Period" in your subject line. Our team will prioritize your case. We do not anticipate any disruption to service during the grace period.
